Multi Blanking - This process is designed to produce finished blanks or sheets from coil stock. It can edge, trim, slit and cut to length in a single process. It is a combination of a press and cut to length line. Typically the press is located between the feed system and the shear. The cut to length portion of the line works as a standard system. As the Shear cuts the material, the Press is concurrently stamping the part. Once cut, the Feed System advances the strip. The portion of the strip that was just stamped is now in the Shear to be cut to length. Once this part is cut, it is stacked as any other cut to length piece. This process can significantly improve production efficiencies.
